I know that the Saints are regular readers of elbuzzard, so here goes. We wasted another great performance by Drew Brees and Marques Colston yesterday with all the stupid fumbling and dropped passes. Terrance Copper had a real nice fumble as we were driving to tie the game at the end of the fourth.
Reggie made up for his fumble with the aerobatics of his first offensive TD, which was awesome. Stop fumbling Reggie.
I love how pissed Payton was after he put the ball on the ground though. I love that guy’s emotion. Before the game he was rough-housing with Charles Grant . It’s one thing when Joe Horn gets slapped by Grant, he’s actually playing in the game and is going to get hit a lot worse. But the coach? I thought Grant was going to knock him out. Payton stood there and gave it right back.
We need the old man Joe Horn back so we can get Copper off the field. Billy Miller is a bum too, for getting the fumble trend started early.
Drew Brees directing Aaron Stecker deep as the pocket collapsed was a great play. What a clutch QB. Drew Brees for MVP. It’s a shame that we fumbled away a completely winnable game.
At least Atlanta lost too. Let’s go, Tampa Bay!
What about the snap to McAlister? What was that about? Thank goodess someone was paying attention. It was a heart break of a game.
Drew was so cool to act as if that was a planned thing, and you have to admit, it sure looked good.
I watched the game live – another Saints game live on UK TV this year! – and it was a great game. How alert was McAllister? That was unbelievable, to be concentrating on your play so much pre-snap, and then being so alert to grab the ball and run it in.
Oh, and if Marques Colston doesn’t win rookie of the year then there’s something very wrong. Hell, the guy should be going to the Pro Bowl.
