I hereby declare that I will no longer defend Michael Vick aka Ron Mexico. In the past, I’ve said that I think the Falcons QB is an alright guy, especially when compared to his leg-stomping pedophile brother Marcus. I just thought he was dumb, and that’s not a crime.
Now, property he owns is being investigated for drugs and dog fighting. Yes, dog fighting. Way to go Mike. The best part of the article is at the end, when they list the trials and tribulations of Ron Mexico:
The probe at Vick’s property is the latest in a serious of embarrassing incidents for the Atlanta quarterback.
He was named in a sordid lawsuit that accused him of knowingly infecting a woman with a sexually transmitted disease and using the alias “Ron Mexico” while seeking treatment. The case was settled out of court.
Last season, Vick flashed an obscene hand gesture to heckling Atlanta fans as he walked off the field following a dismal loss to New Orleans. He was fined $10,000 by the NFL and donated another $10,000 to charity.
In January, security officers at Miami International Airport seized a water bottle from Vick that they said smelled of marijuana and had a hidden compartment. Authorities later said there were no drugs in the bottle, and Vick explained that he used the secret compartment to carry jewelry.
Just this week, Vick came under more criticism when he failed to show for a lobbying appearance on Capitol Hill in support of increased funding for after-school programs. He missed a connecting flight in Atlanta and didn’t turn up for a later flight.
PETA wants the Falcons to kick Vick off the team. That’s not going to happen, I’m sure. But if it did, Joey Harrington is waiting in the wings to get Joe Horn the ball.
Here are some facts about Joey:
- He doesn’t knowingly give girls sexually transmitted diseases.
- He lets his posse carry his drugs.
- No matter how badly they booed him in Detroit, he never shot the bird to the crowd. And the crowd deserved it.
- He shows up for his NFL-assigned charity work, which he most likely doesn’t get anymore because he stinks.
- The jury is still out on whether he fights dogs at property owned by Michael Vick, though.
Why do I love him so much? I think it’s because he keeps it real. And I would still remind you that the airport thing turned out to be nothing. And it’s not his job to keep his friends from acting like jerks. Imagine you hitting it big at 21, and dragging all of your friends at that time to an NFL city. Joey Belcher. That’s all I’m going to say.
The drug thing was not nothing, it was Air Tran pulling strings to get the charges dropped. Do you really think he keeps his jewelry in a secret compartment of a water bottle? Come on.
I was like you, I wanted to believe that Michael Vick was just young and dumb. Then I thought he was just dumb. Now I think he’s dumb and cruel.
Seriously…you are putting that dog fighting thing on him? Come on… He’s got dumb friends.
And as far as the airport thing, why on earth would Air Tran do such a thing. I can see it for someone with a good rep. But his was lousy. Why go out of your way for someone like that? I think you spend too much time on message boards. No wait. I know you do, RickyJax4evr11

So the mighty Air Tran got him off? How do they have that kind of clout? And why would they? And why not just drop him? Everyone gets dropped these days.

He was recently cited for trespassing by the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries for trespassing to hunt, fish or trap – a class three misdemeanor punishable by a fine of up to $500. For some reason, the image of Michael Vick fishing is still cracking me up.
I find it interesting that knowingly giving someone an STD seems to be a lesser offence than allowing dog fighting to go on on his property. People are outraged now and weren’t at the former? Not that I’m defending either, just commenting on what seems to be many other peoples priorities as regards animals and humans.
Personally, I hope he gets kicked by the Falcons because he sucks as a QB, but if he was going to go because of off the field incidents, I’d be disappointed if this caused it, when the STD thing didn’t.
It’s a pretty slimy move not telling the woman, but at least in the end, she had a choice. The dogs had no choice.
Yes, she had a choice to sleep with him or not, however, she did not have all the facts. Her choice might have been different had she known that the scum was diseased.
The poor dogs….all of those peopel are diseased!.
And what can you say about the Falcons and the coach and owners? We have sunk to an all time low when we reward such behavior with a lucrative contract and all that goes with it.
Well, it’s not just the Falcons, and it’s not just football either. Happens all over the world in big-money sports. Get convicted of rape? Hey, Mr. Tyson, have more millions from us TV companies for fights! In fact, it’s not just sports – look at showbiz and the music biz. It’s everywhere.
Some days I wish that we have a huge asteroid hit the earth. New ice age. Start again.
