He added that what was billed as a “regular game” simply wasn’t.
“It isn’t for [New Orleans]. It isn’t for the local economy here. It’s not for anyone,” Payton said. “Call it a home game if you want or an away game. I don’t know what you want to call it, but there are just a lot of things in my opinion that need to be sorted out.”
Here’s Weatherford for the Chiefs, and example of why he was Dave and my favorite punter, he wasn’t afraid to get in the mix:
Move up to 3:58, he makes a great tackle on punt return. Granted, it was a 50 yard return, but he saved the touchdown.
I saw that story. Payton can be such a little bitch.
He has a point. Calling the London game a home game was a joke, and we are the least deserving team to have a home game taken from us, considering the fiasco in Giants Stadium after the storm.
Also, we would never have painted the Chargers logo in the endzone at a home game.
Right, but what good does it do to bitch about it now. You won the game. Move on. Stop being a little bitch.
Because it was bullshit, and people should know that it was bullshit.
Stupid. Does he want his players pitching publically everytime they get a bad call? Move on.
As I understand it, the NFL didn’t “take” the home game. It was agreed with the owners of the teams. So, I guess that’s another one you can put on your glorious owner 🙂
Cutting Weatherford was a mistake. He’s now unavailable, playing for the Chiefs. I always thought he was a pretty decent punter.
I’m glad to see the team paying attention to special teams, though.
Here’s a better Saints story: Sean Payton rips the NFL a new one for the stupid London game:
