Has anybody hear the song that goes “Wats yo fema number?”
I heard it Mardi Gras day and everybody went crazy when it can on and I saw this guy going to town dancing with a plate of chicken in his hand! I googled it, no good.
I want to post pictures!!!!
Ed. note: And so you did. Here’s the link to Amber’s 2006 Mardi Gras photos.
Doi to me, I figured it out. Too much Mardi Gras.
Things I want to do during Mardi Gras:

2. Eat oysters at Cooter’s
3. See a brass band – Wild Magnolias @ Le Bon Temps on Sunday night
4. See Mr. Quintron and Miss Pussycat show – Mon Feb. 27th – LUNDI-GRAS….QUINTRON AND MISS PUSSYCAT live concert with PEACHES and Twilight at One Eyed Jacks!!! Due to an earlier march this will be a late show. 1st band probably begins at 11pm.
5. Monday night parade under bridge
6. Bloody Mary at Snake and Jakes
7. Get up early Fat Tuesday and see some indians
8. Gamble at Harrah’s

Chris RoseSo the season is upon us.
In some pockets of town, I see the banners, flags, bunting and lights with the colors that speak to my spirit, and I hear Al “Carnival Time” Johnson on the radio calling me to fall in.
By this time of year, I have usually wiped down the ladder that has been stowed in the shed for a year, making sure the safety straps, bead hooks and cup holders — especially the cup holders — are tight and secure.
Sometimes I’ll have added a fresh coat of paint.
But it’s still in the shed as I write this. I’ll get it out. Soon.
I see the empty stands down on The Avenue, waiting for the revelers to come. For some reason, I have always been rendered wistful by the sight of deserted stands and stadiums and this year it’s a small hole in my heart.
