The 2nd Bi-Annual Atlanta Tubing Weekend

It’s back. Kent and I are hosting the hottest weekend in Atlanta (and the mountains). Super spectacular party and all-day tubing fun on the Toccoa River. We’re going to make the early trip this year. I just know it.

Everyone is invited to come and stay with us.

I’m taking a vote for what weekend in August works best for everyone:
August 11
August 18
August 25
or September 1 (which is Labor Day weekend)

My best Christmas Present

I asked for a photo album of pictures from my Mom’s stash.  Not only did my Aunt Kathy go through all of the albums and picked the best ones and the ones she thought I’d really like, she scanned them all at Kinko’s and made electronic copies and organized them in chronological order with captions.  It’s the best Christmas present ever.

Penguins

Last year I wanted to help the Audubon in New Orleans so Jack donated to the Society and I became the adoptive parent of one of the penguins at the Aquarium (I named him Louie after my grandfather). We went to see the penguins this weekend and one of them was swimming head-first into his plexiglass enclosure. This was obviously the penguin Jack and I are supporting. I’m not exactly sure what this means but a penguin slamming himself into a wall repeatedly can’t be a good reflection of our mental state.

In other penguin news I tried to watch March of the Penguins this weekend.  I could watch 30 seconds at a time before I would cry.  I believe I watched a total of 4 minutes before giving up completely.  The movie is coming out of the netflix queue.

If you had $60 million, what would you do with it?

  1. Become a professional student. I would go get a Master’s degree and then another, and then another, and so on.
  2. Buy a house Uptown.
  3. Buy everyone a house Uptown.
  4. Travel. Across South America, the U.S., Europe.
  5. Give money to everyone who wanted to go to school, or start their own business.
  6. Buy a house in Venice.
  7. I’d buy a plane so I could visit everyone whenever I wanted to.
  8. Buy the Saints for Kent.
  9. Buy the Sooners for Dave.
  10. Buy Marnie Jake Delhomme.
  11. Buy the aquarium for Jack – and a big boat.
  12. Buy my Mom a newspaper business. Maybe the New York Times.
  13. Buy Beth a Springer Spaniel farm.
  14. And a house on the ocean.
