Frustration Incorporation

Now that the government has admitted to screwing up the post-Katrina relief efforts, what will their punishment be? 1,300 counts of murder? Relieved of their duties? 10 year of hard labor rebuilding New Orleans and affected areas?
Why do I get the feeling that these incompetent fools will be allowed to continue at their jobs with little or no punishment?
I’m with Hillary Clinton: This is the worst administration ever, at least in my lifetime.

Ignoring Politics

Ever since I moved out of DC, I’ve been pretty much ignoring all things political, with the exception of New Orleans. It was refreshing.

Then I learned last night that Alito was on the Supreme Court. I learned it because The Bush introduced him, and not from the news. I read a lot of the intraweb via rss readers and all that, but somehow his confirmation completely slipped by me. I would hear things about how the Senate was interviewing him, etc, etc. But nothing about the confirmation.

Now I feel bad that I didn’t care enough to pay attention. Alito is the guy who they say will be the vote to overturn Roe vs. Wade, right?

Eat that, Hallmark!

I just had the greatest idea. When people send cards, they should leave them blank, and just attach a post-it with a message. Thus proliferating the life of the card, and saving everyone heaps of money. And saving trees, and giving people the green light to send out cards that they have really enjoyed through the years. Genius!

The first whinge of the year

I’ve been in Leeds most of this week on a course. It is 300 miles from Poole. Drove up there Tuesday night, 5 hours drive, developed a cold on the way up, spent 3 days in a classroom with thumping head and leaking nose finding it hard to concentrate, drove back tonight trying to see through streaming eyes and got home an hour ago.

Kids and Sarah were pleased to see me. However, I picked Lucy up for a cuddle and she threw up all over me. lol. Welcome home Daddy!

I want to sleep a lot this weekend. However I also want to play with the kids. Maybe I’ll play hide and seek with them and hide in the loft and snooze 🙂
