I’m sad to say that I have viewed Kent and Leslie’s Netflix choices, and I am quite dissapointed. I did not see ‘The Wicker Man’ on there at all, but I did see trash like ‘Black Hawk Down’, ‘Sahara’, and the topper…’The Island of Dr. Moreau’. Oh Kent, when will you ever watch The Wicker Man? Will we really be able to be Netflix Friends?

Blatant lies. Allow me to correct some of your “facts”:
That’s not the The Island of Dr. Moreau, it’s The Island, which was just discussed here on elbuzzard.
Black Hawk Down, while an excellent film, is not in our queue.
I will admit that our first movie was in fact Sahara, which was thoroughly enjoyable.
The Wicker Man is not on the list, because you are the only person that has ever told me it is any good. Everyone else says it’s total crap. I’ll watch it eventually, don’t worry.
Here’s our next 20 movies:
V for Vendetta
The Royal Tenenbaums
Syriana
Good Night, and Good Luck
Capote
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
Weeds: Season 1: Disc 1
Weeds: Season 1: Disc 2
Wedding Crashers
The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou
Sideways
A History of Violence
21 Grams
The 40-Year-Old Virgin
Sunset Boulevard
Secretary
Deliverance
Transamerica
Everything Is Illuminated
The Pink Panther
Now, for comparison’s sake, here is my critic’s queue:
Dick Cavett: Hollywood Greats: Disc 3
Dick Cavett: Hollywood Greats: Disc 1
Dick Cavett: Hollywood Greats: Disc 2
They Shoot Horses, Don’t They?
Dick Cavett: Hollywood Greats: Disc 4
The Casebook of Sherlock Holmes: Disc 1
Poirot: Mystery of the Blue Train
Agatha Christie’s Poirot: Five Little Pigs
The Diamond Arm
Mildred Pierce
All About Eve
Klute
Who’s house would you rather hang out at?
I rest my case.
Deliverance. I presume that’s compulsory viewing when you move to Georgia.
If that’s not your queue that came up on my “friends list” with you, then I am a donkey’s ass! You’ve obviously gone and changed your queue seeing as how no one here can prove you wrong. As for my list….I guarantee that my house, even without furniture, would be a better house to hang out in. ‘They Shoot Horses Don’t They’ alone could make for an entire weekend of entertainment! I’ve also already seen all of those movies on your queue….aside from ‘The Pink Panther’, ‘Wedding Crashers’, and ‘Weeds’ (though I’ve watched it at my mom’s). Can you say the same for your critic’s picks? And don’t say it’s because they’re dumb movies.
Your queue looks like the TV lineup on the local PBS station on any given friday.
Shame! Shame! Oh…..
I can’t wait to watch Harold and Kumar Go to Whitecastle tonight. Enjoy Dick Cavett interviewing Sonny and Cher.
Dick will be interviewing Alfred Hitchcock, thank you very much!
They Shoot Horses Don’t They and All About Eve are both really good movies. Probably better than most of the stuff on Kent’s list, but I have to say that those Dick Cavett shows are insufferable. But it’s hard to give the edge to someone who just watched Sahara. And both of you are woefully short on documentaries. That’s where the isoteric cool points really start to kick in.
Good to know my buttercup still appreciates good film. God bless ALL the little children!
