In today’s “what the hell?” moment, the New Orleans City Council passed a unanimous resolution the other day asking Tom Benson to hire SuperBowl MVP Doug Williams as head coach or other executive, who is currently an executive with the Tampa Bay Bucs.
I have a few concerns.
- Why is the New Orleans City Council wasting their time on voting on who they think should be the Saints’ new coach? Isn’t there some kind of infrastructure that needs building? I also wonder if the jackass city councilman who lives here in Atlanta and organized the anti-Mardi Gras protest before the Saints-Falcons MNF game was able to attend that vote.
- Why is SuperBowl MVP Doug Williams qualified? Because he coached at Grambling and Morehouse? Seriously.
- Why did they pick out SuperBowl MVP Doug Williams? Being from New Orleans, I know that the NO City Council is fundamentally corrupt. SuperBowl MVP Doug Williams is from Louisiana, but what is his connection to the City Council?
If you are wondering why I cannot use SuperBowl MVP Doug Williams’ name without calling him SuperBowl MVP Doug Williams, ask Dave.
So random. Seriously, wasn’t there a big storm there a while back? There must be something more pressing than future coaches for a franchise that is going to bolt first chance it gets.
I don’t know Dave, can’t you help me out on this one?
Also, according to the ‘Sklins website (http://www.redskins.com/team/history-super.jsp), Williams has some engineering prowess, maybe the council is thinking they could kill two birds with one stone . . .
I must be living in a hole under a pile of debre. I haven’t seen any of this in the newspaper or on TV.
President Bush comes today for his 9th visit. We have made so much progress with all his help that I know he will be impressed.
9th? That’s a lot – most of them after the hurricane, or before?
President Bush stayed in the Garden District. Beautiful homes, but no damage. He didn’t even bother to go to Lakeview, the home of his voting base. Got to love this man. He is doing a “heck of a job”.
(This is his 9th visit after Katrina or so he says.)
He must be counting flying over the vicinity on the 8 vacation trips to Crawford since Katrina.
