For Lent, I have once again given up smoking. My lungs require it after this Carnival.
I hope everyone had a great Mardi Gras, I sure did.
Who’s the king and queen?
My votes for king and queen come from my stomach. Cap’n Jack cooked all day long on Fat Tuesday and still managed to drink a fair amount of his own urine. Ileana tore up the grill at home when DP abandoned her to the coals. I love a girl that smells like sausage.

For next year:
Will Dave come out of retirement? Current odds are 30:1 that he cannot resist.
What should we wear? I thought the scrubs were cool, low key, and easy maintenance.
Illy for Queen; Thomas for king.
Strong performance from Lisa, solidifying her as the clear-cut No. 1 pick in next year’s draft.
I think I should be the crowned Prince of Mardi Gras. My resume:
1) No naps at any time during my time in town
2) Drank exclusively coffee or beer the entire time
3) Ate hoggish amount of Sushi
4) Missed no time whatsoever despite twisted ankle, flu like symptoms, and the runs
5) Produced “High Fives and Punches” movie on Monday night
6) Scored a solid 9 in the IQ test
7) Tried to light a grill (w/Illy) using only newspaper
8) Stole stuffed toy from a kid on Tuesday morning
9) Stole countless beads from Marnie’s friend
10) Brought the rainbow approach to coaching in the football game.
You are the Skittles of Mardi Gras. Taste the rainbow.
And you could not throw ONE bottle or can in the garbage can!!!!!
He was too busy stealing beads from Marnie’s friend. Too bad we did not collect all that money. Susan and Marnie could have had dinner on that poor guy that could not make ONE shot in the garbage can.
Illy and Cap’n Jack. Sausage and chicken wings at 8 a.m. on the neutral ground make me happy and Illy grills a mean burger. I would love the recipes for the chicken wing marinade, the red beans, and the gumbo – or I could just get them next year! 😉
The Koster boys should take lots of vitamin C leading up to Mardi Gras next year.
I had a great Mardi Gras – Thank you everyone!
Susan and Marnie!
You both know you were waving your hands up and down while I was trying to make those cans in the trash, and obviously I was on the verge of small pox or yellow fever, or whatever it was I ended up getting.
A healthy Brent, without all those moving arms, would have taken 8 dollars home easy.
Brent you are DREAMING. A basketball player you are not. Sure wish I would have collected. Dinner would have been great on you. Sometimes we gave you a clear shot and you still missed. EXplain that to me please. Sorry you are ill. I would be sick too if I did not make any shots either.
I thought I consumed enough alcohol to ward off any infection. I must raise my quota for next year or switch to what Leslie was using. I love you all. It has been nice knowing all of you.
Don’t go Marnie! I don’t want the first time I met you to be the last!
Catherine, yours pictures are terrific. Thanks so much for sharing. Just got back from the doctor with a bunch of medicine. Hope I am on the road to recovery.
Thanks, Marnie! My theory is that if you take enough pictures, you might get a couple of good ones! I hope you’re feeling great today!
