I didn’t hear a single thing about 9/11.
Granted I don’t listen to NPR anymore, and I don’t watch the TV news, but you would think I would hear something about it. I heard about it last year, but maybe that was because last year was the five year anniversary. Six years is boring?
I was surprised that we did not have any mention of 9/11 at school. I did pray for peace during morning prayers. TVFD had a brief ceremony at the Terrytown station, but I understand that a lot of the members did not show up. It was all very low keyed across the city.
I wonder if it’s because 9/11 is now associated with the war in the iraq.
I thought it was a relief. Remember…yes, but it’s been long enough now for all to do it in their own time. It’s been used much too much by the big monkey in office to remind the ignorant of this country about why they still follow his chimp ass. Move on, pay your personal respects, and learn from it all.
I’m proud to be an American, where at least I know I’m free.
I think it is time to move on. We will never forget what happened on 9/11, but we have to put it away at some point. Katrina is the same thing. We are still recovering from it and people are still hurting over it, but it is time to move on….rebuild and keep moving forward. There is a time for grieving, but there is also a time for healing and you cannot heal if you keep reopening the wound. You can’t forget it, but you can put it in its proper place.
There was a ton of crap on the TV’s while I was at the gym that day. Mostly how we still haven’t found Bin Laden.
