Progress

Here’s an update on our progress fixing up the house:

1. New Sink Installed

2008-09_Sink

We bought the display model sink from Lowe’s for $20.  Super deal.  I installed it myself, using many plumbing words.

2. Built Shelves in Hall

I took the extra kitchen cabinet that was gathering dust in the utility closet and turned it into the base for some built-in shelves in the hallway.  I wouldn’t exactly call it a master carpentry job, but it gets the job done.

3. Living Room

After (still in progress):

Last weekend, we painted the living “Woodlawn Colonial Gray.”  Despite the fact that the name of the color is spelled wrong, it looks really sharp.  These pictures of the living room don’t really do it justice.  It’s a great color.  I think it looks like George Washington.

Things are starting to look up inside the dump.

  1. I like your sink, and your shelves.

Have you got a plumber’s number ready in your speeddial memory?

  2. I’m sure you didn’t learn any of those plumbing words from any close relative. But you two are doing a great job. The sink, the bookcase, the color looks fine. What a transformation. Mazel Tov!

  3. You know, I wasn’t sure about that grey colour the first time I looked at the pic. After looking a few times though, I think it looks good.

  4. I am so impressed with how fast you get things done. Is that just you or Leslie’s influence.

  5. Kent, your work is really wonderful. It is amazing what one can do with tools and a plumbing dictionary for the big words. BTW, “grey” is the GB spelling and “gray” is the americanized version of the same. Don’t want old George turning in his grave. Hi L. Bahls
